9 of My Favorite Kids Playroom Ideas
Playrooms used to serve as basic spaces filled with things for kids to play with. I know this because I had one of these rooms when my kids were younger. Since then, playrooms have evolved into so much more than a room that holds toys. Playrooms now have a multi-function purpose, designed with different zones in mind. Over the years I have posted some amazing playrooms on my Instagram account @decor_for_kids and here are a few of my favorites:
Storage with style! Playrooms should have lots of storage for games, toys, crafts, etc. Erin from @mytexashouse did a fabulous job with incorporating lots of storage that ties in with the rest of the room esthetic
Playrooms are becoming more creative and elaborate! Why go down to the basement using stairs, when the kids or (even you) can go down a fun slide? Credit to @barrington_homes
A small playroom designed the right way can serve as a multi-functional space! Read, play and create by @lifeonhibiscusway
What better way to express creativity than with a chalkboard? There are many options for a chalkboard wall such as chalkboard paint, chalkboard vinyal decals, and hanging chalkboard signs. Playroom designed by @porcheplace
For playrooms that are located in the basement, consider making a playhouse located under the stairs. Spaces under the stairs are often unused and wasted, @webbsmithinteriors had a genius idea to utilize this space and incorporate it into the playroom
@joecarrickdesign went all out in this playroom making it into an actual little tiny town, complete with a hair salon, post office and café!
